Hundreds show up for Mardi Gras to help the GB Children?s Home

Hundreds of masked people, adorned in colorful beads, gathered at Xanadu Beach Hotel Friday night, January 30th, for the annual Children?s Home fundraiser. Despite the winds, rain and cold temperatures, many Grand Bahamians made the effort for a very worthy cause. Guests went all out, dressing in bright colours, wearing masks and even traditional outfits for the fun Mardi Gras themed party.

Shooting victim dies from injuries

THE death of a 29-year-old man shot in Freeport two weeks ago has brought to three the number of people murdered on a single street in Freeport in three months.

Police probe shooting of man aged 50

FREEPORT - Grand Bahama Police are investigating the shooting of a 50-year-old man in the Freeport area early Sunday morning.

Scouts donate food to senior citizens facility

The Grand Bahama District of the Scout Association of the Bahamas recently donated food to Raybertha's Citizens Centre, an assisted living facility for senior citizens.
